2013 into 2014: Review and Resolutions!

I have to admit, 2013 was a really great year for me.  SO much happened:

I started running again and rocked a 5K in NYC.  I even trained for a 10K but had to bow out because of foot pain.  No biggie, I was still proud of myself for trying.

After a 7 year journey, I received my AAS in Interior Design from The New York School of Interior Design.  YAY!

My husband and I moved out of Manhattan and into the burbs–we bought our first place together and have been working on it ever since.  We love it!  PS our sofa is from Mitchell Gold, and the painting is by Christopher Strunk.

A big one.  I turned 30!  A birthday that many approach with trepidation, I embraced it and I’d say 30 is the awesomest I’ve ever been.

We made many many trips around the Eastern coast to Annapolis, the Hamptons, Newport, Marblehead MA, and Martha’s Vineyard.

My team and I raised over $3000 for NEDA (National Eating Disorders Association) for the Annual NEDA Walk and we had record participation for our walk across the Brooklyn Bridge.  Such an amazing cause and I look forward to raising more money this year.

Speaking of this year…let’s talk about my 2014 resolutions!

This past year of 2013, I’ve tried to be a much more positive person both for myself and for others around me.  I’d like to continue that.  I know what makes me smile: exercise, cooking, making friends, reading things that make me happy, being with my husband, reading design mags, and trying to spread the positivity!

I tried my hand at creating my own fabric through Spoonflower, and I’m going to keep going with it and create more patterns with new colors too.  Look out for more Alicia B original fabrics in the next few months!

Another design resolution is to redo our guest bedroom.  I love the wall color so that will stay, but we would like to change the rug, minimize the desk area since its mostly used for storage not for work, and switch up some of the furniture.  It will be a really fun project which I’ll update you on as we get it done.

I DID update my blog from aliciabdesigns.blogspot.com to consolidate both the blog and my website on one site, but I’d like to stay committed to posting more.  It’s time consuming and there are so many things to post on that it’s hard to decide but I’d like to take the time and keep blogging.  I’ve been at this for a while!  Thank you for everyone that still reads this!

Well that’s it for now.  What are your resolutions?  Share them below and Happy 2014!
